That would be so much better than having a vote on a hypothetical plan because the achievements would be available to try out for a vote AFTER users took a crack at them rather than before where ideas that seem good on paper may potentially end up being bad/dumb in practicality.Mark Alexander Ballas Jr. I would also get rid of the need to post a vote for additions and developers directly post them to Unofficial for testing. Otherwise, Unofficial achievements that were always good (since the testing phase) would retain the tester(s) as the first unlocker(s) of said achievements. Worst case, if an unofficial achievement has to be redone & unlocked when it shouldn't have, it could always be duplicated where the duplicate is fixed and then promoted to the core where it would have to be re-earned by any testers, but testers would keep the points of the broken version that would remain in Unofficial. Especially when it comes to testing achievements, where rewarding those who spend time with points is a good incentive and a smart way to have kept things. They used to reward points if you unlocked them but after a change to the site, they stopped crediting users who unlocked them and as a result stopped rewarding points to any users triggering them.Īchievements left in Unofficial can still be tested but I still stick to my guns & say they should've left them as they were to reward points to users who spent time unlocking them. In my case I made some that remained there before Bonus sets were a thing where the achievements were not a good idea for the core set due to being glitch based or too challenging. Also, it's where bugged achievements end(ed) up and where achievements that get/got demoted end up. Unofficial is where uploaded achievements in the local section (which remain on the creators' hard drive until uploaded) end up after they're 1st uploaded & before they get promoted to the core.
